Most luxury or high-end vehicle manufacturers will use turbochargers in their engines to improve performance and gas mileage. The differences between turbochargers and superchargers aren't vast, but they still differ in important aspects such as structure and mechanics. The supercharger is similar to a turbocharger, as it uses compressed air to create a more efficient burst.

Still, it creates this burst through the engine’s power. The supercharger has a rotor that spins and intakes air, which will then compress and pump into the engine. The movement of the drive train powers the rotor, as the engine causes it to spin.
